AES-256 (the PDF 2.0 standard security handler, R6). The result opens in Adobe Acrobat and other major PDF readers.
What if I forget the password?
It cannot be recovered — the password is never stored anywhere on this site. Keep an unencrypted copy of important files somewhere safe.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Everything runs inside your browser on your own device — files are never sent anywhere. There are no ads, and the tools even work offline after the page loads.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
