FAQ
What are the NISA limits?
The tsumitate quota allows ¥3.6M per year and the growth quota ¥2.4M per year (¥6M combined), with a ¥18M lifetime tax-free allowance (growth quota capped at ¥12M of it).
What return should I assume?
Global equity indices have averaged roughly 5–7% a year over long periods, but nothing is guaranteed. Try several scenarios such as 3%, 5% and 7%.
Is this compound interest?
Yes — monthly contributions with monthly compounding. The projection is an estimate; real prices do not move at a constant rate.
Is NISA really tax-free?
Gains and dividends inside a NISA account are tax-free in Japan. This simulator excludes fees and taxes.
